Free and high-quality SAT Math lessons
Introduction
What is this?
This website contains a complete collection of written explanations and theoretical video lessons covering SAT Math. The material is organized into a structured sequence of topics, with an emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than memorization of techniques. All content is available completely free of charge.
My motivation for creating this website:
- Limited timeframes: Many students unfortunately come to me only 1–2 months before the exam. In such cases, it is more reasonable to focus on practice, while they can study the theory on their own.
- Efficiency: Due to the large number of students, I often end up explaining the same theory repeatedly to different people, and over time they may forget it anyway. In this situation, it is more effective to simply direct them to this website.
- Missing middle ground: Many SAT resources fall into one of two extremes. Platforms such as Khan Academy often teach mathematics in a way that is too broad and too introductory for serious SAT preparation, while many SAT-preparation resources reduce everything to tricks and shortcuts. My goal was to create something in between: a resource that focuses on the ideas that actually matter for the SAT and explores them in the depth they deserve.
- Lack of structure: Many students learn SAT Math as a collection of unrelated topics. One of my goals was to organize the material into a coherent sequence where each lesson naturally builds on previous ones.
- Personal principles: I strongly believe that high-quality educational materials should be freely available to everyone. I also hope that these lectures can serve as a useful reference for SAT tutors and educators who are looking for structured explanations of the underlying mathematics.
What about practice?
This platform is designed primarily as a theory resource. Its purpose is to help students build the conceptual understanding needed for SAT Math. While some reinforcement exercises are included, extensive practice is intentionally kept separate.
For additional practice, you can use my problem collection: learn more here and/or contact me for individual classes. Also, check the Supplementary Materials section.
How to use this?
There are a few scenarios I have in mind:
- I personally recommend that you watch specific topics. In that case, you should follow those recommendations.
- You are solving problems from my collection and need theory on a particular topic. You can easily find that topic here.
- You are doing self-study and want to go through all the lessons. In that case, it is recommended that you start from the beginning and go through everything in order.
This website can be used either as a reference or as a complete course.
Note: The Fundamentals section covers the very basics. You can use it if you are not confident in your current level.
